A mental health advocate became inundated with unsolicited messages from people with cast fetishes after posting an image of the pot on her broken foot.

Rebecca Butcher, based in South Yorkshire, posted an image a week ago showing her cast but was forced to edit it after being flooded with messages from cast enthusiasts

Rebecca wanted to emphasise that she wasn't kink-shaming (where people are stigmatised for their fetish) but asked on her post for the messages not to be sent.

Instead she received angry messages and was left shocked at the reaction.

Rebecca said: "Last week I fell down the stairs and broke my foot, taking an ambulance to hospital and inevitably ended up with a cast.

"I’ve never broken a bone or needed a cast before but with my job being in social media, I didn’t want my foot to stop me from being able to work and upload my usual regular content.

"I posted a photo but as soon as I did, I began receiving message requests, comments, follows etc from people with broken leg / cast fetishes.

"I don’t kink-shame, I’m very sex-positive and open minded when it comes to fetishes and believe people should be able to enjoy whatever sexually turns them on, as long as it isn’t hurting anyone else and is consensual.

"Obviously not everyone with a strange fetish is a sexual deviant or harasses strangers online, it’s unfortunately just a few who give some kink-communities a bad reputation.

"But as I received more and more messages, I started to also receive unsolicited photos from people clearly getting off on the fact I was in a cast.
